The first video game was a game like pong where you would hit a ball back and fourth. You would turn nobs to control the angle of the ball and then a button was pressed to hit the ball to the other side. To catch the the ball you have to press a button at a certain time to catch it. Also if the ball was hit at the wrong time or even the wrong angle the ball would not go over. The person who created this game was physicist William Higinbotham. He orginally created this interactive program for a open house for his school.
William Higinbotham was born on October 25 1910. In 1948 he joined Brookhaven National Laboratory's instrumentation group. During his time in the group their was a open house. For this open house he wanted to make something interactive to catch the people's atenttion so he created the first video kinda like pong.
